Birkenstock Care

Birkenstock Care

It is that time of the year again, when everyone wants to walk around in their favorite sandals! Here are a few things to do to ensure Birkenstock Care and give your footwear a long life. The leather of your Birkenstocks should be brushed to remove dirt and dust, and then sprayed with a non-silicone waterproofing and stain protecting spray every 6 months, such as our Morgan’s Spray. You should not spray the foot bed of your Birkenstocks, regardless of whether they are shoes or sandals. If your Birkenstock’s have exposed cork, the cork should be sealed in with a cork sealer or cork renew every 4-6 months or as needed to prevent the cork from drying out. One tip to know when cork sealer needs to be applied is when the cork of your footwear no longer looks shiny. Suede and nubuck footbeds can be brushed to help restore the nap of the footbed. Birkenstocks can be re-soled as long as you have it done before you wear into the cork past the sole.  Birkenstocks will last a long time when given the care and attention they need.
