Inside Morgan’s Shoes and New Balance Madison we have 5 digital foot scanners!

   Our Aetrex iStep scanners top of the line in foot scanning technology. These scanners can be very helpful and insightful when trying to decide which types of shoes, inserts or arch supports will work best for you.

   Our Certified Shoe Fitters, who are trained by our Board Certified Pedorthists, will guide you through the process of scanning and interpreting the results. We love to explain the results to you, in both an education aspect as well as how different types of shoes or inserts may affect your foot health, foot performance, foot fatigue and overall happiness and wellness of your body.

   The scanner is fairly simple to use. Our trained shoe fitters will have you stand naturally on the scanner, and the machine does the rest of the work! During this short amount of time, the iStep scanner will take roughly 25-30 different scans of your feet, measuring where the highest amount of pressure is, as well as the lowest. It also helps us see which locations of your feet are doing the most work. It helps us evaluate your stance, your arch type as well as foot type. Lastly, it will show us where your center of balance is, and help us gain insights for different types of possible abnormalities, such as limb length discrepancy, metatarsalgia, plantar fasciitis, heel pain, foot fatigue, and more.

   A little bit more about the scanners themselves. The iStep scanners are powered by 3,744 gold plated barometric sensors that measure the pressure exerted by the foot every .25cm.

   This scanner also incorporates 1,326 infrared LEDs and receptors that are aligned every half millimeter to capture an accurate size of the foot, both length and width, without using any moving parts.

   When we gain all of this information we will be using it to help find you the absolute best fit, and function and our trained staff will be able to better help you find your perfect fit.
